The 2017 “Senén Vilaró” prize has been awarded to Iproteos to as the best innovative company. It is a solemn recognition to the avant-garde trajectory of the company.
Every year, the Consell Social de la Universitat de Barcelona (Social Council of Barcelona University ) and the Fundació Bosch i Gimpera organize a formal ceremony to award knowledge transfer and creation of innovative companies. The event includes the awarding of prizes to the best research articles published in Humanities and Experimental Sciences (José Manuel Blecua and Ramon Margalef awards); prizes to the best technology transfer projects (Antoni Caparrós award), and to the best innovative company (Senén Vilaró award). Dr. Senén Vilaró was Professor of Celular Biology and one of the first Bioentrepreneurs of the University of Barcelona.
Teresa Tarragó, CEO and co-founder of Iproteos, received the prize from Jordi Alberch, Barcelona University Rector. The award recognises the innovation generated based on the knowledge and value of the technology.
At the conference, we could enjoy the conference of Dr. Guillem Anglada Escudé, Doctor in Physics by the University of Barcelona and professor of astrophysics in the Queen Mary University of London.
