During the first week of March, Sandra Bertran, our PhD student, will participate in the 1st ECMED Advanced Training Course. ECMED is a European Consortium where Iproteos participates. It is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No 642881. The 1st ECMED Advanced Training Course is entitled “A cell biologist’s view on active synapses and the perisynaptic Extracellular Matrix” and will include lectures on synapse, neuronal activity, synaptic communication with the nucleus and single molecule dynamics. Besides, the PhD students from all the members will be actively participating discussing topics such as nanoscopy and cell biological measurements of synaptic activity. Students will discuss these topics in small groups and in the final day they will present their conclusions to the rest of the Consortium members. The Advanced course will be carried out at the Leibniz-Institut für Neurobiologie (LIN), established in Magdeburg (Germany).
